Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Scanning
We perform musculoskeletal scans for conditions affecting the:
Shoulder: e.g. tendon tears, bursitis, effusion.
Knee: Baker’s cyst ( meniscal ganglion would require a MRI).
Feet: Achilles tendinitis, Achilles tendon tear, plantar fasciitis, Morton’s neuroma.
An ultrasound is usually performed after conventional treatment with pain killers and physiotherapy have been attempted.
Amongst other condition a musculoskeletal scan can detect:
- Tears in tendons
- Cysts e.g. Baker’s cyst of knee
- Inflammation of a bursa
- Neuroma e.g.Morton’s neuroma
- An effusion Fluid accumulation - in a joint
